warning for tint and no front license plate

I got pulled over today from an officer and he gave me a warning regarding my tint on my front two windows and no front license plate. When a cop says he gave me a warning what does that mean? He never wrote me a fix it ticket just said that was my warning. But he did asked me for my driver license and went back to his car. Do you guys have any experience with cops giving warning for tint and no front license plate?

so what is a warning do?? Is there any purpose for that? Doesn't a cop need to write u up for tint and no front plate if you had done something else wrong not just randomly stopping you for tint and no front plate?

Basically he was being nice and warned you. Now you need to take care of it if you don't want a ticket the next time around. If you leave it be you are safe until the next time but then it will most likely not be a warning and will be a ticket in hand.

You definatly got lucky OP!!!!

They can just write you up even if you didn't do anything wrong on the road? I thought they can't write you up for that unless you were speeding, not stopping at a stop sign, etc.?

Nope its a violation to not have a front plate (if you have the veh registered in a front plate required state) and you can be pulled over and ticketed for just that single violation. The fact that most oficers only use it as an add on violation if you piss them off , doesnt mean they cant pull you for it.

To OP I would suggest you put on your front plate and and see if you get pulled again ref the tint, I ma betting you wont and the lack of plate is what got you pulled.

Dude you realize that you should have a front plate by law yet your arguing with yourself about his ability to pull you over?...

I would agree. Its a big ticket here in Washington to not have a front plate, but they hardly ever pull over for tint unless you do something stupid. BTW, a stereo shop lost one of my plates and I ran for 2 years without a front, even getting a speeding ticket without the cop noticing the lack of a front plate(it was evening and he pulled up behind me) I paid my ticket pronto and replaced the plate when I found out it would have been an extra 150 bucks if the cop would have noticed.

the ugly plate is going back in the front. It ruins the look of our beautiful cars.

Well there are laws that are considered secondary laws or secondary offense, meaning it's illegal but they (law enforcement) can't pull you over for that specific reason.
