Will this portable jump starter suffice for our cars?

Lately my battery has been acting weird. I lost all electronics two months ago and had to jump it. Last night it happened again but I regained everything when I removed the battery cover in the trunk -_-

I'd really like to keep my battery so I'm thinking about getting a portable jump starter like this one from Walmart: www.walmart.com/ip/C...00W-12V-Air/14649556

Will its specs suffice to jump start our cars?

Hmm. Dunno about that one. We have a DieHard, which is like another battery rather than a charger. I'd take THIS because it also serves as power in any situation, having AC, DC, Jumper, Compressor, Deflator, USB, Light... Here is a Sears link to it. < www.sears.com/shc/s/...3_12605_02871988000P > It's officially named a DieHard Portable Power 1150 Jump-Starter/AC-DC Power Source (copied and pasted)

To answer your question, this unit will definitely start your car-it's essentially an external battery. We found about this when our car died. The charger could only get the electronics going, but not the engine, but then our neighbor came to the rescue and as soon as the jumpers came into contact with the car, it started up.

Oh...the Cobra will do too...

Any of them around 1000 peak amps will be more than enough. I have a small cheap one that is made by Black and Decker I normally use to charge my radio control planes and it has started two of my cars. My only advice is to make sure you are not overlooking an underlying electrical issue if you are having multiple dead batteries. You may have a bad cell in your car battery. Car batteries are under stress in extreme cold and hot temps so summer is when we have battery failures in AZ. Even when the battery is in the trunk.

looks like the Diehard has a 22A battery inside whereas the Cobra doesn't.

Yeah I'm wondering if it's an electrical issue myself but I don't know how to test for it. How would one test a battery for a faulty cell?

A month ago I was thinking about just getting a new battery but I have yet to decide on that since they're +$150 and my current one still works...
