Talked with Multiple BMW Mechanics...

at an independent shop and they were saying some crazy stuff about the 335i that I have not heard before reading this forum. I think its bogus and false info given to them that they pass on as fact. what do you all think... any info?

Turbos: BMW is blowing turbos... the bearings I believe. One of the reasons BMW went to 1 turbo with N55. My immediate thought is complete BS.

Differential: 335s blowing diffs. He didn't get a chance to elaborate on the specifics. Again complete BS, but not completely sure about this.

CATless codes: claims car will not pass diagnostic check emissions test if no CATS, even with sims because of ECU sensitivity. Now my understanding is that this is definitely super BS. Very easy to get around no cats... right? I'm not modded yet, so don't have first had experience.

I don't know where, mainly one guy, was getting his info. He owns a very reputable german car shop doing much work on BMWs.

I know people who have passed emissions with the cat emulator, and while I guess the other two are possibilities, they haven't gotten much traction on the web, so take that for what it's worth. Consider that HPFP failure affects <5% of cars, yet the web will have you thinking every single one will rape your dog at night

Blown turbo could only mean that someone was giving it way too much boost. Guy blows the turbos, takesk out the chip, clears the codes, takes the car in for service, and blames it on BMW.
