545i vs. 335i

So, it seems I have a decision to make.

I have come across a very good deal on a 2004 545i. It has Mtech bumpers and a Magnaflow quad exhaust (Which sounds amazing....). The ///M badge on the back has to come off though, since it's not a real M. I'll probably go for the clean debadged look. It's got 65k on the odometer. 6 speed Auto. Sport Suspension and Bilstein shocks. Only (factory) option is Cold Weather Package. I took it for a test drive today and I was blown away. I love this car. But there's a problem...

If I don't get this car, I would wait for a few more months and pick up a 6MT 07-08 335i Coupe. Both are about the same price. I've been set on a 335i for quite a while and hadn't really considered a 5 series at all (even though I love the E60). After driving this car I had to reconsider. I'll be going in the next few days to test drive a 335i and see what I can figure out.

Should I pull the trigger, or wait and buy a 335?

Exhaust (Kind of. Sounds 100000x better in person):

Edit: Going to pass on this 545i and wait for something better. Thanks for all the input everyone!

not a fan of the M kit since its not an M. i think the 550i w/ sport package is much nicer IMO. still a nice car, do you need the size of the 5? the v8 grunt is amazing.

I was gonna get Mtech for the 335i anyway haha.

I wish this had the sport package. It seems lacking without it. The size is nice and definitely would be more practical than a 335 coupe but it's not totally necessary. I've grown accustomed to my Accord being a 4 door but this is still even bigger than that.

That is not m-tech, that is a replica M5 kit.

I'd rather get the 335i than a 545i.

Have a 550, just added a 335i. The 335i is a more agile car, much friendlier to drive and pretty much just as nice inside. If you don't need the size, the 335i is, from my perspective, the better call. The 550 is the better car for passengers, the 335 for the driver.

That's a shitty ass M5 rep kit from eBay....wait for the 335i.

i would highly doubt that an 04 545i is "about" the same price as an 07-08 335i......335i costs more

Slightly, yes. Which is why I'd have to wait a few more months to buy it.

Go 335i. If it weren't for the kit...I'd say 545.

That is one nasty looking kit and speaks to the quality of the prior owner. That car has probably been badly abused.
