Do your OEM HID's "wobble"?

As the title says, I had some work done on the front of my 335 (that required the removal of my headlights) about a month or so ago but haven't really driven it where I needed the headlights (outside the city) until last night. I noticed that when I hit a bump or just sitting behind someone at a stoplight, my HID's have a slight wobble to them, ever so slightly.

When driving they are more pronounced as the cut off gets further away and the wobble is magnified. It's not terrible (maybe 1/2 inch movement at 40-50 feet away) but noticeable. I can't remember if the lights did it before the work was done, but they did forget to connect the auto levels, and turning motors along with the ACC when the work was done (by a BMW dealer) so it makes me wonder.

Just wondering if I should bother to take it in or not.

mine wobbles slightly as well...

Blame the adaptive headlights.

Yes. I can't stop wondering whether they wobble too much.

Yep.

My '08 328 does this too.

I too posted a comment about this many months ago.

Everybody basically told me this is 'normal'.

I've owned HID headlights for years....never had a problem like this until this BMW.

Its annoying. I've even had somebody in front of me tell me they thought my passenger headlight was broken, due to the wobble. Apparently, there was a TSB, but that was for pre 2007 vehicles.

I guess we are just experiencing the "Joy" of BMW.

Try it with the adaptive feature deactivated. Our HID move up/down & left/right so there's going to be some vibration.

09 LCI with adaptive headlight here, and my wobbles when I go over bumps. At first I thought they were broken, but after paying close attention to other LCI's, I found them all doing the same thing. Now I don't even noticed the wobble.

+1. It looks like everyone's wobbles so I'm guessing it's normal.

Mine wiggle up and down quickly when I hit sharp bumps. Like hitting a 1.5 inch deep pothole at 35 mph will definitely cause the light to vibrate.

I believe there is a TSB for excessive wobbling. I had mine replaced under warranty. New headlights wobble less, but it's still there.
