help me justify 335xi vs g37x

I'm looking for an awd sedan and while I love bmw the new infiniti seems really hard to pass up since it's 10-12k less when options factored in. basically looks like loaded g37x would run about 42. loaded 335xi 53. it's a tough pill to swallow. I don't think either car looks better. A4 wuld be my visual pick. I know the 3 handles better but not sure I'm enough of a "driver" to really notice.

anyway any input would be great. thnx

if you get the infiniti, there's a chance you're always going to have regrets. i had the same choice to make (g35x vs 335xi). i spent the extra $ & went with the 335xi, and have 0 regrets.

ugh.... there is no G37 sedan, only a coupe.

The sedan uses the VQ35HR motor which is why it's called the G35.

2009 will have a G37 sedan. Which, appropriately, will be called a "G37"

IMO looking at track records of the two cars, I'd saw the G will give you less issues regarding reliability but may not be as fun to drive. However, IMO it is the closest feeling to owning a BMW than you will get with any other car. My g/f had a 2005 G35 coupe fully loaded and when she went to get a new car we test drove a 335i a couple times and the feeling of the steering/chassis were close and in daily driving Im not sure how much difference you'd really notice. With that said, the 335i undoubtedly felt better.

Have you had a chance to test drive the 335? its an amazing experience. the steering wheel and the response you get is second to none. i was trying to decide between the 335 and the infiniti as well but ended up with the 335 because of the way it drives. no doubt the interior of the infiiniti's are nice if not nicer then that of a 335 but even if you are not much of a driver, the drive and feel of a 335 will make you one.

To be honest, it sounds as if you're leaning toward the g37. Nobody can justify the 10k price difference but you. Test drive both, consider your options for a week or so, figure out in your own mind if the 335xi is worth 10k more, and make your purchase based on that decision.

That's the best advice I can give. Remember, the 335xi has got to be 10k+ better to you, others opinions really don't matter, in the end it's your wallet and it'll be your car. Good luck!

Visibility, head room, seating, ingress, interior quality, trunk space, 4 years maintenance, are a few of the reasons I picked the 335i coupe/sports over the G37/sports.

NO runflats, price, Japanese perceived reliability, are the G37s strong points.

Of course, that is if you think they drive equally. They do not.

The BMW is one refined machine.

you NEED to test drive both cars for at lest 30 min each and pay attention to the driving experience.

It's the only way to find out.

Personally, I test drove the g35 sedan and while it was a very nice car at a great price, the driving experience did nothing for me.

also, I don't know much about the Infiniti AWD system, but xDrive is very nice.

I know Lexus's AWD sucks from a performance perspective

Because it's a BMW and not an Infinity. =)

Yes the BMW is one refined machine, but there is nothing perceived about Japenese car reliability compared to our BMW's.
