Does your local BMW dealership require a deposit when taking a service loaner?

Not through Enterprise as it's normal procedure., but the dealer's actual BMW loaner?

I only ask because I never had to show anything but my license plate when I got Audi service loaners from the Audi dealerships around here. I was quite surprised when I was asked for a $350 authorization from my credit card at BMW.

No credit card or anything like that, just showing my driver's license and my insurance card.

Yep. They will charge your card if you return the car with less gas than the amount you had when you drove off in the loaner and/or if you damage the car.

Last time I got a loaner they asked for my license and credit card.

License, insurance and credit card. But no charge unless vehicle is damaged.

but did they charge it?

They charged mine $350 right away and I signed the CC slip.

Took 2 weeks until I got my money back.

I've never got charged once. I've had loaners about 5-6 times in the 50,000 miles warranty period.

I've had loaners from 3 different dealerships and was never asked for a CC.
