Trunk Tray

My dealer told me that the tray in the trunk for sedans is only available in the Euro-spec M3. Is this true?

Also anyone ever think of adding it? Seems like a great place to store loose items that may go in the trunk.

I would totally do this as a DIY... sounds like an awesome addition.

It's a very convenient thing to have. You can order it through the dealer and have them install it. We have a few cars that have come through the shop with this tray installed by their dealer.

Is that net also a euro thing only? Don't recall our cover having the holes to put that net. Looks useful.

If you look at 3er accessory catalogue, you'll find the exact same one.

It's just user installed (or part-department carried) accessory in US.

I was thinking about adding it too but it's a bit pricy. I originally wanted to add the tray (to put the emergency jacket) but after looking at price tag, wasn't worth it for me.

I ordered the tray (don't remember if it was through the deal parts department or online). I was able to install it myself with no tools in about 10 min. It works great, and come out very easily if you need to put something large in the trunk.

is it heavy?

Do you have a link of anything? I might be able to mod this for my amps.

Is this coupe-friendly or just sedan?

Ouch. Admittedly, The tray is pretty cool since I really haven't seen any cars with that, but $400 is a bank breaker for a slide out tray. I think I can diy one myself...just get a few sliders from a used desk and a lunch tray from a food court

Thanks for sharing the link though, I'm seriously considering on getting one to store my jacket in there too (as someone mentioned earlier) or a spare dress shirt incase I get mine dirty at work or something.

I have the trunk tray and absolutely LOVE IT!!!

I can't imagine not having it now. It really comes in handy when cornering hard or even at track events!
