707 horsepower BMW M3 by Emotion Wheels

A new tuner goes full spead ahead into the BMW tuning world and the results are quite impressive. The popular BMW M3 has its engine replaced by a tuned up version of the powerplant found in the BMW X6 M. The original M3 engine is a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 developing maximum output of 414 horsepower and maximum torque of 400 N·m (300 lb·ft) at 3,900 rpm.

Emotion Wheels upgraded the 4.4 liter V8 twin-scroll engine from the X6 M and it now produces 707 horsepower. The upgrade was made with a few tricks to the turbocharged V8 engine and some slight adjustments made to the chassis and suspension in order to handle the powerful upgrade. They also installed a modified sport exhaust system that also contributes to this power boost a bit.

The tuner has not released any performance data for the car, but we expect it to be quite faster than the standard M3 which only needs 4.8 seconds to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) and offers an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

The Emotion Wheels BMW M3 E92 also received a couple of styling enhancements and it features a new carbon bonnet which weight only 8.6 kg and adds a great visual effect and new side sills.

A H&R suspension is fitted to lower the ride height. 19 inch Wasabi matte black alloys with polished outer ring are wrapped in high performance tires.

No pricing has been announced at this time.

Sounds like a cool project.

Just a couple of comments:

The 155 MPH speed limiter can easily be remedied with a simple ECU tune so that's nothing to brag about with this car.

The CF hood is a retarded waste of money, since the OEM aluminum one is already very light

Which transmission? The 6 speed auto from X6 M also?

Where are the pics under the hood? Seems odd that they would be hyping their 700hp gonzo M3 without a pic of the actual engine.

As far as the performance goes

But I think that the styling of this car may fall into this thread....

the X6M engine makes WAY too much torque for either M3 transmission.......the DCT is limited to 443ftlbs......not 100% sure on the 6 speed, but its probably similar.... 707 hp is probably 700ftlbs too

I'm pretty sure that comment was talking about the original M3 -- not the 4.4TT. For one, it seems to be made in that context. Two, 4.8 seconds 0-62 is not at all impressive -- and can't be for the TT motor. I've got a vBox file doing 4.2 seconds 0-60 in the stroker -- and the 4.4TT should be able to smoke the NA stroker 0-60.

I was thinking the same exact thing...just didn't want to say anything.

The questions I'd like to know: how did they sort out all of the electronics into the vehicle -- mixing and matching all of the computers/DME. I'd also like to know what happens to the weight balance of the car.

Good point, wonder what they've done (or are doing) to figure this issue out. Unless they swapped an entire tranny?

German tuner reveals its supercar slaying BMW M3 coupe, with more power than a Ferrari 599 GTO

By Stephen Dobie

02nd June 2010

707bhp BMW M3 coupe

We love the BMW M3. And it’s certainly not a car that’s crying out for more power. Nevertheless, German tuner Emotion Wheels has seen fit to boost the performance car’s output. And not by a small fraction, either…

Out has gone the E92 M3’s naturally aspirated, 414bhp 4-litre V8; in its place at the front of the car (and driving the rear wheels) is the 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 from the controversial X5 M and X6 M fast 4x4s. In those it produces 547bhp; some feverish engine tweaks and a modified sports exhaust sees its maximum output rise to 707bhp in this M3.

Needless to say, there have been chassis and suspension tweaks to accommodate the slightly frightening rise in power. There have been no performance figures released yet, but any improvements over the standard M3’s 4.8sec sprint to 62mph will depend on how those rear tyres manage to translate Ferrari 599 GTO-bashing power onto the road (or track). With the limiter removed, expect a top speed north of 190mph.

Accompanying the 71 per cent power increase is a bunch of pleasingly subtle styling tweaks. There’s no bright paint or big wings, just a carbonfibre bonnet (to match the roof), more muscular side sills and some 19in matt black alloys.
