anyone owned C63 and M3?

Short story is I had a C63 ... and after a year and a half ... had the hairbrain idea of trading it in for something more practical (too embarrassed to say what that is) ... fast forward 4 months later and this whole 'being practical' thing has run its course ...

So, it is down to a C63 or a M3 (E90 w/DCT).

Interested in getting feedback/impressions from people that have owned both or driven both extensively ...

I have both. C63 = great highway cruising car with tons of power. M3 = way more fun all around car to drive and kills it in the turns.

+1 The C63 is a beast on the highway and has orgasmic sound. I just bought a Mars Red C63 two months ago. I love it but I find myself driving my M3 to work on the nice days more since its mostly twisty back roads on my to work

Those were the two cars I had narrowed down my search to when looking for a replacement for the GT3.

The consensus I found was exactly what was stated above....

C63 is a great cruiser with brute power.

M3 is more of a handling car.

Thus, being as I am more of a twisty roads type of guy, I opted for the M3.

I think it really depends on what you want out of the car and where you want to enjoy it.

Are you a commuter and mostly highway driver who rarely takes "the twisty road less traveled" or are you the kind of guy who would rather take the longer twisty road to work?

For me, I typically commute in my old Toyota truck and use the M on "fun days" in the hills, backroads, track, etc. It still is used around town here and there, but doesn't see a lot of commuter detail. I had to drive it today as it was sitting for about 2 weeks and I had to get some charge in the battery! lol Damn clock even lost its setting! wtf?

My dad has a c63. It's a great car. Gobs of power. Really like the car. Since you already had one I assume you know to get the LSD with it.

The M3 is better in the corners by far. But the overwhelming reason I got the M3 believe it or not was that I just wanted to row gears again. And that was the end of the c63 and m3 dilema... And my dad would make fun of me if I bought the same car as him. He's had other Mercs in the past (e class and s class) and I always called them old man cars. lol.

Yes. It's suppose to have 451 hp and 443 ft lbs of torque.

Thats exactly what I thought and what my window sticker says, but on their website it says 410, I think someone made a big typo.

I haven't taken any pictures of it with my M3 yet since Ive only had it going on 2 months now and have been waiting for better weather. They should look pretty sharp sitting together since the M is Melbourne Red and the C is Mars Red

I was deciding this same problem a few months ago before I picked up my '10.

The M3 is a much easier car to drive on the track because of its great balance, the C63 is a much more powerful, harder car to drive fast. Although the C63 is still very very fast, you have to be a very talented driver to drive it as well as a M3 with a novice drive. I have only a dozen track days under my belt and last time when I took the E92, I felt if I was a better driver, I could squeeze out 1-2 seconds on a slow short track, I imagine it would be much harder on the C63.

In the end, Im glad I got the M3.

Only reason I'd say m3 is cause u already owned the c63.

But u could get the new power pack in the MB...around 480hp
