I was wondering if you guys would recommend I purchase a 2012 m3 now, or wait for the F30 M3 to come out?
How long would the wait be if I were to wait?
I have never even driven an M3, can you tell me what it's like to own one and drive daily?
Just wanted to get your opinion since you guys have been driving the car for years.
I appreciate any advice that you can give me. Thank you.

Agreed. I have about 11,000 miles on my 2011, and I have zero urge to make a change when the new model comes out.
As for a daily driver? It would be fantastic. I drive about 30,000 miles a year, so I got a 335d to abuse for that role and I drive the M3 primarily on weekends. But the M3's handling and exhaust roar (I have an Eisenmann race) are magnificent without being harsh.

IMHO, i think the new 3 series interior looks even older design then e9x with i drive

E9x M3 = First and possibly last V8 n/a motor. There's NOTHING like the growl of 8 cylinders.

I'd wait for the F30. Don't get me wrong, the E9X is a sweet car and that V8 is gorgeous, but designs get old and when the new one comes out, the old one becomes passee. I love my E92 and it's definitely a keeper for me, but that's not going to stop me from wanting an F30 when it comes out.

Buy now. Help save the economy. Upgrade later, and boost economy again!

I say test drive a e92 and if someone would allow you to test drive a turbo bimmer, you would be able to see the diff between how the engines behave.
Get the e92 now and when the f30 comes out and you like it more, trade in, MHO.
Cheers

If you can pick up a preowned then move it in 18 to 24 months when your ready for the new M. I found a loaded 2011 E92 all options ZCP 77k MSRP 6k miles for 61k + TTL. Take advantage of the bad economy and low interest rates. Then in two years when the new one comes out trade it in you should make money on the trade since the first owner took the hit. + if you dont like the new car you dont have to make the move.

i completely agree..i hate that pop up nav display...like the current merc C series...i dont know why everyone says bmws interior is dated looking...i personally like how simple and clean everything is...and i LOVE the dash hump and the large luxurious screen

If you want to keep reving only to 7400 or even lower when the new M3 is out, wait for the next M3. If you want a high rev engine that makes you smile everytime you floor the gas pedal, get an e90 or e92 now

+1 I love the dash hump for the nav system. I prefer the simple interior that M3 offers rather than the high tech merc ones.
