Need advice on new Brute

OK, Here the deal. I just bought a new 09 650 4x4i on Wednesday and I'm in the process of putting on the initial 60 miles of breaking in the engine. Well tonight on mile 12 the belt light comes on and I lose all power when throttle is applied. Has anyone else encountered this problem with a new Brute Force ? I'll call the dealer tomorrow but what should I expect from them? Is it a simple fix or could there be more problems to come(lemon)?

12 miles...well it sounds like the belt switch either tripped or lost connection and it has gone into what we call "limp" mode. It does this to give you half a chance to get back before the belt comes completely apart....and Brutes can destroy belts faster then any other machine. But at 12 miles...and at breakin, it isn't likely the belt has any issues yet unless that one hellasious 12 miles. Check the connectors going to the clutch cover. One set goes to the actuator (engine break) and the other goes to the belt switch. If the one to the switch was never clicked-together and came apart, the circut is broken and the computer assumes the switch has been tripped. After checking, there is a proceedure in your manual for resetting the computer. There is also a thread under How Tos as well.
