I usually just let it idle for a few mins, then drive the quad gradually to top speed ( like 1 mile gradually) then inspect deflection , adjust if needed

Knowing that the contact surfaces have to break in together...kinda like rings to cylinders, I usualy take her out and run it up and down the RPM range in low range for a few miles gradualy adding load to it.... as in hills and such as I go. Then in high range for another 10 miles kinda easy at first cause I don't want it to even start slipping during break-in cause it hard to ware-off any glazing. Then I let her eat in the soft stuff so she can spin up without too much load. In all I give it 15-20 miles. After about 30 miles I'll hill-climb in high range until about 50 miles where I check the deflection and adjust if necessary.

Probably way more then anyone else does or needs to...but.. I do get 900-1000 miles out of my belts.
