08 650i 5 mm allen head on rear end drain? It was the first time I TRIED to change the oil (just bought as a LO) and it rounded itself.

Has this happened to u? What do I do now? I've tried those ez outs before with no luck. I don't want to screw this up any furhter. Also What do u use to Loosen and tighten the oil filter? Alls I had was a pipe wrench and it isnt to friendly. Also on my 00 300 Prarie when tightening the rear drain plug the treads on the housing stripped before it was even snug. Can I use an adaptor similar to what u use on a cahs oil pan?

On your Brutes rear drain plug...remove the skid plate outta your way and use a pair of vice-grip pliers and take the bolt out and replace with a regular hex bolt. Its a VERY common problem with them stripping out on the head so EVERYBODY replaces them with a standard bolt.

I personally have a pair of oil filter pliers that I got from WalMart that work good for these filters, but I have been known in the past to knock a screwdriver threw the filter to break it loose and then finish turning it off by hand lol

Someone else can cue in if I'm saying anything they dont agree with here..... oh and for the praire....I have never run into that before so you'd just have to study and figure out what'll work

hope this helps

Vise grips worked great THANKS! I didn't give that a thought. Wait till the HW store opens and one hex for the back and one for the front, that one is almost gone too. Thanks Again!

I 2nd the oil filter pliers! Best thing i've found. I like to remove my center skid when changing the oil. Just makes alot easier. On the the other hole that stripped you might have to use a heili coil or tap and rethread it.
