Painting plastics

Hey guys,

My wife wants to pull off her plastics and paint them blue. Has anyone attempted to change the color of their plastics before? Just wondering what type of paint would be the best and will last on it.

Thanks in advance!

I have used several different methods, they all look great for a while then begin to crack up and flake off , I would suggest Krylon Fusion just cause its easy to do(no sanding required) . and its way cheaper than self etching primer, 4 packs of sand paper ,and the time it takes to go thru all the steps with using automotive type paints

You can do a lot LOL get you some self etching primer , flex additive ,and what ever color paint you want ! do you know someone who can mix the flex additive in for you?

If they can pre-mix automotive paint you are in buisness If you dont get the flex additive it will begin to crack quick

Agreed!! I redid some of my black plastic bumpers and fender trims on my '08. I used the black hammered krylon fusion. Turned out good. Also did my brush gaurds both front and rear. But the spray gun with the flex additive would be the way to go. Possibilities are endless....Gotta show some pics when you're done!!!
