I have an 05 Brute 750 that the front wheels are locked on.I've undone the cable an made sure the lever is alway in disengeged position but when jacked up both wheels spin the same direction. Wondering if maybe the spider gears are seized on the shaft or is there a fix to this problem without opening up the diff. ?

oh oh this sounds all too familiar to me. I hope that all is well, but I think you are right and the gears are welded to the shaft. I just went through that crap and had the new gears honed out 3 thousandths to prevent it from reoccuring.

I believe you are right swampthing. Sounds like the old gears to pin issue.
