my buddy was playing in the back hole by the house which just cost my other buddy over 3k on his cummins including the tranny. well make a story short he was crossing it on his brute trying out the new lift and stuff and bike shut off. he has his exhaust snorkeled and well while he was in the hole no water was shooting out the exhaust so when it shut off we thought it was fine to start and well as soon as he tried starting it the starter gear broke first. then we get it back to the house and come to find out whole topend is filled with water (which we didnt know) none in bottom though or even on dipstick. took it to shop since it was under warranty thinking everything was good and BAM they hit us with the, when we got it to turn over it shot water all over the garage door in the shop. so now after a week of water sitting in the motor they drained it today. i told my buddy to be ready for a rebuild but the shop is saying they can save it. but at first they told us both cylinders were hydrolocked so idk. my dealer is pretty good with snorkels and bikes running deep since this is about what all florida guys do is ride swamps and rivers.

now im just waiting to see if these brutes really are tough because if this comes out alive i will be so surprised and will make me think different of these vtwins if not then i have been right all along... will keep you guys posted with more info as it comes along.

These things are not meant to be submerge in water, it doesnt matter if you have snorkels etc....theres always a chance when riding in water, you will get some water in the engine.......but hey if you got the cash to be spending then its all on you.......
lilbigtonka2010-08-10 22:24:48 +0000 #6
Sry we all like to do different things and it ain't about who has cash and stuff it is about having fun and how to have fun and that is how we do it down here..... If I wanted a good ride and just trail I would have bought a comfy popo but that's not what we do.... And I wasn't asking how much or if He had the coin for it I was just trying to keep my brute buddies informed about another brute and whether or not we save it and what's going on.... Btw not being a butt just stating what I'm trying to say

My 05 brute I had, I sunk it 3 times, the last time was bad, very bad, it sat upside down in a flooded creek for 3 hours then, sat at the dealership for a week before they got to it, they changed everything and it runs till this day

@lilbigtonka, didnt mean to step on your toes or anything, and i know we all have different meanings of what fun is, but you have a point do what makes you happy and have a good time of course, i guess i was just saying if it were me i just dont have the heart or nerve to sink my $9K atv in water..........btw popos are reall cumfy i use to own one before i sold it and bought the brute.
lilbigtonka2010-08-10 22:47:33 +0000 #10
naww man you didnt step on my toes bro. i was just stating what and how we do it down here. and yes i know 9k atv is bad but you should see the 60-110k buggies down here that go for the biggest deepest hole at the parks. i have seen many people break a 20k bill in just one weekend on some toys here lol
