Warranty question

cdusthockey2010-08-10 20:50:23 +0000 #1
I noticed a pool of oil under my 09 brute 750 and took a look to find out that it was the rear seal leaking. i am wondering if this is something that the dealer will cover under warranty? I have 27" XTRs on too, so i am wondering if they will void anything because of the tires.

I am also wondering the procedure for bringing in a wheeler under warranty. I am not going to be back home to bring it in, so do you guys see any problem with my dad bringing it into the dealer to have it fixed? What kind of information will they need to be able to service it under warranty?

thanks

as long as it doesn't have a lot of mods other than tires and whats in your signature, you shouldn't have any problems... Kawasaki knows the rear seals suck.. so they can't blame that on anything that you've done!

As far as your dad bringing it in, maybe call them and ask?

ive heard various stories of kawie complaining about tire size. 26 max or something like that. maybe 27.

i think you'll be ok. xtrs are for trail riding.

and yes, the leaking seal is a warranty item.

personally, i would do it myself. we have videos to show you hwo to do the front and rear.

being a brute owner, you'll eventually become trained to do that job in under 10 minutes.

The seal is under $15 and takes less than 20 minutes to replace. Not worth the trouble of loading it on the truck/trailer and hauling it up to the dealer.

^^ Agreed with PhreeBSD and LA750i....

I think I paid just a few dollars for my seal, had the old out and new in in just a matter of minutes... In the time you could load it up, and drive it there, you can replace it yourself.

Here's the how-to thread that PhreeBSD Created:

when my 09 was stock exept for 28" Zillas. my rear seal started to leak. noticed oil on the ground under the brute. brought it to the dealership with the 28" zillas and they took it in and cheanged the seal and it cost me $0.00. they covered it under warranty with the 28" zillas on it.

The warranty will cover it. It did mine. If the dealership isn't a long drive let them fix it, they get paid to do it. otherwise do it yourself.

Aftermarket wheels got nothing to do with rear seal leak. It will be covered.

Your quad is in warranty, not you. So, it doesn't matter who brings the quad to the dealer.

Hopefully our local dealer doesn't reject because of tire size... they are selling stock 750's with 30" Backs on them... no clutch work..

Take it to the dealer! If you take it enough you will get the prototype kit from kawi! Mines lifted, snorkeled, piped, and running 29.5 outlaws and they warrantied mine everytime and finally gave me the kit...

I had mine replaced under warrenty, I got 29.5 outlaws and they said warrenty will fix the seals but wont cover any Axels or differentials with tires over 25,
