KEBC works sometimes

i started having trouble with the kebc making funny and random noises after i drowned it in a lake. it worked right after it got it going but then it would make different noises when i turned the bike on and off. now it won't do anything. no noise. when i drive the bike it feels like it's working cause i can feel something kick in and help slow the bike down. i know it's the KEBC because of the 2 second pause between the 2x4 and 4x4 light. i have taken the kebc all apart and tested it with a battery to make sure it works and now it will do nothing hen on the bike. i don't care about the KEBC working but without it i have no 4x4 and that's a problem. just looking for some suggestions as to where i can find the electrical problem. by the way it's a 06 650 SRA.

That is exactly why I did this mod.

So you tested it off the bike and it works perfectly? But mounted..its doesn't do anything. That means you took the time to pull it off the cover leaving it plugged in, jacked the rear end up, started it, ran it above 3 MPH...say 10mph and watch it rotate one direction and then as you let off the gas and it came down to below 3mph, it rotated in the other direction. Then you put it back on making sure the pin does insert into the slide sleeve, put the bolts back in and..nothing. Well, the fork is frozen-up. Pull the cover, pull the pin, clean, lub and reassemble. Check the spring out while apart

If you didn't do this test, check the motor and magnets, they have been known to come unglued sometimes. Also the potemeter hates to get wet inside. If its does, that's your problem.
