HMF Question

DRZfour002010-08-11 01:03:08 +0000 #1
I just ordered a HMF Utility slip-on and would like to know if I really need a tuner in order to make it run right. I really don't want to mess with a tuner if I don't need to, but if its necessary then I will. HMF Optimizer or PC3? I have an 08, can I use a PC5? Or is the stock ECU able to make up for the pipe enough that I don't need a tuner? Thanks.

We just threw an HMF Optimizer for an 08' Outty in the trash.....

Bike runs better.

OK, but I need to know if my Brute will need one. I get that you are saying the HMF Opti is trash. If thats the case, then the Power Commander is the way to go IF I need one...

some people will say you need one others say you dont. I have the same exhaust only put about 100 miles on before I stuck on PCIII. Just used one of their maps and brute runs good.

Mine actually ran better when I took the HMF Optimizer off but that was a very temporary situation as the VDI Copperhead went in a couple of weeks after that. The HMF Optimizer now resides on a shelf collecting dust.
