Hey guys, I am picking up a used 05 brute, has pipe and jets and dynatek.... stock otherwise..... they guy says it starts very hard but once running its OK..... the shop told him it could be a sticking choke? anyone ever heard of this? or what would you suggest to look for other than the obvious, spark plug, air filter, etc...

Sticking choke does not cause hard starting but often times it causes plug fouling because it does not shut off when you push the choke lever to OFF position. Choke is not really a choke on quads, but it is a fuel enrichening circuit in the carbs, providing extra fuel to start easier when cold. Try fresh plugs and see if they help first.

some of the early brutes were just down right cold blooded.. So if you are from up north, Id say it's probably normal. But it isnt going to hurt to check everything out on an 05 anyway. (valves, plugs, etc....)
