Using expanding vents to water proof?

Has anyone discused using the Can-Am expanding vents to waterproof the front and rear diff and even the crankcase on our Brutes? To me it looks like a great idea to keep h20 out and still allow the gasses to expand and contract? Thoughts?

I want to say that I've seen it discussed before... maybe on a different forum... I don't see why it would not work... but it's also just as easy to re-route the vents to the pod... But the diffs on the brute are already at the pod, so unless you plan on going pod deep, they really arent necessary... and if you accidentally go that deep, you will probably need to clean out the diffs and stuff anyway, cuz most brutes leak around the diff seals... LOL

also (i know you didn't mention them, but just for informational purposes...) the carb vents, and gas tank vent rely on being able to suck air in, so that wouldn't work for them...
