I am so p-o'd.

As I was driving to work today I thought I had a flat tire. You know that kind of "flapping" sound from the back end of the car. When I stopped at the gas station to check the tire pressure I noticed 2 nuts were missing. Pulled out the tire iron and ALL the nuts on both back tires were loose. A couple more were ready to fall off. The front tires were okay.

During the lunch break I popped over to Parts Unlimited to order a set of locking nuts. God I hate some people.

I think I'm going to borrow one of my boyfriend's dogs for the week. He'll scare anyone away.

That sucks!

Happened to me once while living down on the coast, went to make a slow left hand turn and clunk!...i then proceeded to watch as my front right tire went across the road and into a ditch.

Locking nuts are the way to go !!

So someone loosened them while it was at your house?

I'm guessing. The truck was parked in front my house since 11AM Sunday. I had come from a hockey game at the other end of town and didn't notice any problems with the tires at that time.

I filed a police report in case there were a bunch of people on my block who experienced something.

I got to work and one of my co-workers asked if someone has it in for me. Yikes. Do you have any idea how long that list is???

My mechanic is in the same strip mall as the place I bought the parts. I asked them what the likelihood of having only all the back nuts loosen on their own while the fronts stayed in tact. I had new tires installed a while back, but these guys did a safety check for me on the 12th and this is one of the things they checked.

They put the locking nuts on for me, re-torqued the rest and told me to come back in a couple of days to make sure all is okay....for free. Gotta like those guys.
